- Seamlessly hand crocheted from high-quality Madagascan raffia. This material is innately pliant, supple and offers a natural water resistance which delivers a durable resilience to prevent cracking and brittleness over time. Created by a multi-step process that combines technology with traditional methods, raffia is first hand selected before being dyed and hand crocheted. There are in excess of 18,000 expertly formed stitches, no seams, and no visible knots or joins. Small fly away fibres can simply be trimmed causing no structural damage to the style. We do not recommend allowing a style to be submerged in water. To clean, do not use any harsh chemical or dry clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth. You can also lightly steam to re-shape the style when needed. Variations in Raffia Crochet styles are an indication of the unique and authentic character of each handmade piece.
